'63 S-Style Set

Our ’63 S-Style Set is our favourite S-Style pickup set. The windings of the individual pickups are tailored to their respective mounting positions, which was not always the case with the original sets. Pickups from this era are known for their slightly higher number of windings and are therefore very popular. The Alnico 5 magnets used deliver a more stable and also more aggressive tone than the Alnico 3 magnets fitted in earlier models. The use of low-capacitance Formvar wire ensures the typically ‘bony’ tone familiar to us from, for example, H. Marvin, M. Knopfler and R. Gallagher. DC resistance: bridge: 6.5 k-ohms, middle: 6.3 k-ohms, neck: 6.0 k-ohms

Hendrix Style ’69 Set

Our Hendrix Style ’69 Pickup Set is inspired by the legendary guitarist J. Hendrix. We use grey vulcanised fibre plates and wind them with plain enamel magnet wire to achieve an authentic vintage sound. The Alnico 5 magnets match the historical originals in terms of length and GAUS values. What makes our Hendrix ’69 set special is the reverse-staggered arrangement of the magnet pole pieces, which is normally found on left-handed guitars. This creates a unique vibe that can be heard clean on tracks such as ‘Castles Made Of Sand’ and ‘Little Wing’, and with overdrive and Fuzzface on tracks such as ‘3rd Stone From The Sun’ and ‘Foxy Lady’. Lenny Set

Our Lenny '65 S-Style Pickup Set is designed to reproduce the characteristic sound of S.R.V.’s “Lenny” guitar. With a percussive sound, tight bass and pleasant treble, this set brings out the typical vibe of the old ’65 pickups. The pickups are wound with dark plain enamel wire on grey vulcanised fibre bobbins and fitted with vintage staggered Alnico magnets of varying heights, each with a bevelled edge. The DC resistance of these pickups is slightly higher than that of the ’69 S-Style set, resulting in a unique sound.

Stage Struck Set

The Stage Struck Set delivers the characteristic gritty, brilliant and fiery tone we’ve come to expect from R. Gallagher in his explosive live shows in sweaty clubs. The handcrafted Rory Tribute pickups deliver powerful and articulate tones with that classic single-coil brilliance and plenty of overtones. Crafted from black vulcanised fibre plates and cloth-wrapped wiring, the pickups match their inspirations both visually and sonically. With resistance values of: bridge: 7.5 k-ohms, middle: 7.2 k-ohms and neck: 6.9 k-ohms.

Johnson ‘Tones’ Set

Our ‘Tones’ set combines ’54-style single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions with a ’63-style single-coil in the centre of the pickguard, making this set extremely versatile. The two ’54-style pickups deliver a very warm, sweet tone, whilst the ’63-style pickup, in switch positions 2 and 4 of the five-way switch, adds delicate, sparkling treble. The bridge pickup has a few extra windings, so it never sounds thin, even with overdriven amplifiers. The resistance values are: bridge: 6.9 kΩ, middle: 6.5 kΩ, neck: 5.8 kΩ. This set is ideal for guitarists who value versatility and sound quality.

Love & Peace Set

The ‘Love & Peace’ S-Style Set combines our ’69 S-Style pickups in the neck and middle positions with a Hotwound Custom Bridge pickup. The traditionally wound neck and middle pickups deliver the percussive and tight ’69 tone, whilst the Hotwound Custom Bridge Pickup produces a solid, mid-range rock sound. Neck: 5.8 kΩ, Middle: 6.0 kΩ, Bridge: 11 kΩ. Enjoy the classic sound and a harmonious playing feel with this set.

Tweed Tone Deluxe

Our Tweed Tone Deluxe ’54 S-Style set is handcrafted and modelled on pickups from the early years. It gives your guitar that classic warm single-coil sound, familiar from H. Marvin to J. Mayer: pleasantly warm with sweet highs. Made from black vulcanised fibre plates, 42AGW enamelled copper wire and cloth-wrapped connection leads. The relic magnets lend the set an authentic character, not only visually but also sonically. To prevent microphony, the pickups have been waxed. The coils in the Tweed Tone Deluxe ’54 S-Style Set are manufactured with historically accurate numbers of windings, which means that the ohm ratings may vary slightly.

Highway Star '72 Set

Our Highway Star '72 S-Style Set is a reproduction of the pickups from 1970 to 1975. The pickups are crafted from grey vulcanised fibre plates, wound with plain enamel magnet wire and fitted with Alnico V magnets that correspond to the historically accurate dimensions and Gauss values. The Highway Star ’72 Set has a DC resistance ranging from 5.9 kilo-ohms to 6.1 kilo-ohms. With this set, you’ll get the sound of Blackmoore, Trower and Trout.

Texas Twanger S-Style Set

The Texas Twanger S-Style Set has been designed to bring the classic Tele twang to a Strat. These hot single-coil pickups utilise a special, slightly thinner wire, as well as staggered Alnico 5 magnets combined with a steel reflector plate on the underside of the pickup. The Texas Twanger set delivers the twangy, punchy tone of a T-style pickup and the ‘quack’ of an S-style set in the middle positions. Gilmour Tribute Set

Our Gilmour Tribute Strat Set was developed in collaboration with Jens Knoop from www.lefthandgear.de. We thoroughly enjoyed selecting the materials and testing the sound with Jens. Here are the specifications: Bridge Pickup: Black bobbin, Alnico 5 magnets and a super-hot 12.9 kΩ coil deliver mid-range punch and make the overtones sing with joy. Middle Pickup: Grey bobbin, Alnico 5 magnets, wound with classic plain enamel magnet wire. This RW/RP ’60 pickup delivers a transparent tone, particularly in the middle positions, and ensures a hum-free ‘quack’. Neck pickup: Black bobbin, Alnico 5 magnets, wound with the legendary Formvar wire as used before 1965. Classic Gilmour neck pickup tone!

HSS Set

S-90 Hot

The S-90 Hot pickups offer the classic P-90 look in the size of an S-style single-coil. Each S-90 features six individually adjustable P-90 screws in the coil, with the magnets situated underneath. The result is a powerful and loud tone with plenty of mids and that characteristic P-90 punch. The S-90 Hot has a resistance of 10–13 kΩ – Superscream!

S-90 Vintage

The S-90 Vintage pickups offer the classic P-90 look in the size of an S-style single-coil. Each S-90 features six individually adjustable P-90 screws in the coil, with the magnets situated underneath. The result is a powerful and loud tone with plenty of mid-range and the characteristic P-90 punch. The resistance of the S-90 Vintage is 6–7 kΩ.
